Players entering ARC Raiders with a PvE-focused loadout often make the same costly mistake: they treat every machine encounter as a damage race. In practice, weapon efficiency depends on penetration, component accuracy, range, ammunition, and how often a raid may turn into a fight with another Raider. That is why comparing ARC Raiders BluePrints should begin with your expected encounters rather than a simple damage ranking. Aphelion and Bettina can both support successful runs, but they reward very different approaches to positioning, resource use, and progression.

Aphelion for Focused ARC Hunts

Aphelion makes the strongest case when machines are the central objective. Its energy ammunition and very strong penetration rating give it a clear role against armored ARC targets, particularly when you can expose and hit important components. The weapon is less about spraying until a target falls and more about turning accurate weak-point shots into reliable progress.

That strength comes with a practical requirement. Aphelion is most valuable when the player can control distance, maintain a clear line of fire, and avoid wasting shots on protected areas. Missing components or firing without a plan can quickly turn its apparent advantage into unnecessary ammunition consumption. It also becomes a less comfortable choice when a raid regularly shifts from machine combat to close or medium-range Raider engagements.

Choose Aphelion when repeated ARC encounters justify a specialized energy-ammo loadout.
Use deliberate positioning so penetration and component damage matter more than magazine volume.
Keep a clear extraction plan because inefficient shots reduce the value of the run.

Bettina as the Flexible Rifle

Bettina is the more approachable daily option because it follows a familiar assault-rifle pattern at medium range while retaining useful ARC penetration. That combination makes it practical for players who cannot predict whether the next engagement will involve a machine, a Raider, or both.

Its advantage is not necessarily superior performance in a controlled ARC test. Bettina earns its place through flexibility. After clearing a machine, you can reposition with a weapon that remains suitable for a sudden player fight. This reduces the need to build every raid around one narrow scenario, which can protect both your time and your available resources.

Early-game players will usually benefit from this broader use case. A dependable rifle makes it easier to learn enemy spacing, test engagement ranges, and avoid committing valuable ammunition to a specialist setup before their accuracy is consistent. Mid-game players can still prefer Bettina when mixed encounters are more common than dedicated machine farming.

Build Planning Across Progression

Early-game decision-making should prioritize repeatable raids over theoretical peak damage. Test the weapon you can use accurately, observe how much ammunition ARC targets consume, and avoid spending more resources than the extraction is likely to justify. A weapon that performs well only when every shot lands is not automatically the best starting choice.

In the mid-game, separate your loadouts by purpose. Use Bettina when PvE and PvP risks are equally plausible, then reserve Aphelion for routes where machine encounters are frequent and your positioning is reliable. Late-game planning can become more specialized, especially for players who deliberately build around ARC fights and component targeting.

Start with a low-risk raid and record ammunition spent on comparable ARC targets.
Compare the shots needed to break important components instead of judging only unarmored time-to-kill.
Test both weapons against Raiders at the range you normally fight.
Choose the loadout that preserves extraction value after ammunition and engagement costs.

This progression keeps short-term survival connected to long-term improvement. It also prevents a common farming error: copying a tier list without considering accuracy, range, or the type of encounters on your route.

Farm Efficiency and Event Timing

Dedicated PvE farming becomes more attractive when the reward supports the ammunition and risk involved. The July update improved ARC Turbine loot, so players planning machine-focused runs have a stronger reason to evaluate Aphelion instead of automatically selecting the most flexible rifle. That does not make every raid a specialist run; the value still depends on whether you can reach targets efficiently and extract consistently.

For mixed routes, Bettina can offer better practical efficiency because one weapon covers more situations. For controlled ARC farming, Aphelion can produce better results when penetration and component damage reduce wasted fire. Neither choice removes the need to manage ammunition, choose sensible distances, and leave before a profitable run becomes an expensive failure.

Players seeking a broader reference for planning loadouts, ammunition, and progression can also review ARC Raiders Items before committing resources. Bettina remains the safer all-purpose rifle, while Aphelion is the sharper specialist tool for confident ARC hunters.
